Licence agreement

The end user licence agreement (EULA) for our plugins. It says what you may do with them once you install them. Last updated 8 November 2026.

In short

  • You buy a licence to use our plugins, not the software itself.
  • Use them for any music work, including paid work, on the number of computers each product allows.
  • What you make with them is yours. No royalties, no credits.
  • Please don't share, resell or crack your licence.
  • Your audio never leaves your computer. Only the licence check goes online.
  • Your rights as a consumer always apply, whatever this agreement says.

The full text below is what counts.

Who this agreement is between

This agreement is between you and DecentAudioTools, Ganību dambis 38, Riga, LV-1005, Latvia (“we”). It covers every plugin and app we make, such as Re-Blocks and its companion Re-Blocks Link, with their installers, updates and guides (“the software”). Where a product works differently, for example in how many computers it runs on, the product details at the end say so.

You accept this agreement when you install, activate or use the software. If you don't accept it, please don't install or use it.

You buy the software from Moonbase, our reseller, under its terms for buyers. Payment, receipts, tax and refunds are between you and Moonbase. The right to use the software comes from us, through this agreement.

Your licence

  • What you get: a personal, non-exclusive right to use the product you bought or downloaded. If you buy for a company, the company holds the licence and decides who uses it on its computers.
  • How long: forever, once it's paid in full. If you pay in instalments, see below.
  • Where: on as many computers at a time as the product details say, on computers you own or control. To move to a new computer, free one of yours first, in the plugin or in your account.
  • Free plugins and companions: some products are free, on their own or together with another product. They are covered by this agreement too.

Free trials

Many of our products have a free trial. A trial is the full software under this agreement, for the time the product details give. When it ends, the product locks as described in its product details until you buy a licence. We build our plugins so that a locked plugin doesn't change your projects.

Paying in instalments

Some products can be paid in monthly instalments, which we call rent-to-own. Your licence works from the first payment and becomes yours forever after the last. If you stop paying before that, the licence works until the end of the last month you paid for, and then the product locks like an expired trial.

What you can do

  • Use the software for any music or audio work: your own tracks, client work, teaching, live shows and streams.
  • Keep everything you make with it. Mixes, masters, bounces and presets are yours, and you owe us nothing for them.
  • Keep copies of the installers and your licence files as a backup.
  • Show the software in videos, reviews and lessons. We're happy when you do.

What you can't do

  • Share your licence or account, or use a product on more computers at a time than its licence allows.
  • Sell, rent, lend or sublicense the software, or pass it on other than as described under Passing it on.
  • Get around the licence check or a trial, or use or share a cracked copy.
  • Decompile, disassemble or change the software, except where the law lets you do it anyway (for example to make it work with other software).
  • Remove copyright, licence or trademark notices from it.

Activation and the licence check

Paid products need to be activated once on each computer. They check the licence online now and then and keep working offline for up to a week between checks. Computers without internet can be activated offline with a licence file.

The check sends your licence, an ID made from your computer's hardware, its name and its operating system, as explained in the privacy policy. Your audio, your projects and any reference tracks stay on your computer; the software never sends them anywhere.

When you load your own audio, such as reference tracks, please only use audio you're allowed to use; the software doesn't change who owns it.

Updates

Updates within the major version you bought, for example every 1.x update after version 1.0, are included in your licence at no extra cost. A new major version, such as version 2, may be a paid upgrade, offered to existing licence holders at an upgrade price; the version you have keeps working under this agreement either way. Each update says which operating systems and plugin formats it supports, and over time we may stop supporting old ones.

Passing it on

You can give or sell a licence to someone else through us: write to [email protected] and we move it to their account. From then on this agreement applies to them, and the product stops working on your computers. Trial, beta and free licences can't be passed on.

Beta builds

Beta builds from Beta-Blocks, our beta tester program, are covered by this agreement and by the beta rules in our terms. They are pre-release software: they can crash or change, they are for you only, and they may stop working when the beta ends. Save a copy of your projects before you open them with a beta build.

Who owns what

The software, its code, design, sounds and texts belong to us, and so do the names of our products, the name Decent Audio Tools and our logo. This agreement gives you the right to use the software; it doesn't sell you the software or these rights.

The software contains components made by others, such as fonts and code libraries. They come under their own licences, which are listed in the notices included with the software, and nothing in this agreement limits your rights under those licences. VST is a trademark of Steinberg Media Technologies GmbH. Audio Units is a trademark of Apple Inc.

Your rights if it doesn't work

If you are a consumer, the software must work as we describe it, and the legal guarantee for digital content applies for as long as the law sets. If something doesn't work, write to [email protected] and we'll fix it; if we can't fix it in reasonable time, you get your money back. Your right to withdraw from a purchase is explained in the terms.

Beyond that, and as far as the law allows, the software comes as it is. We test it in the common music programs, but we can't promise it works with every computer, program and plugin combination, so please try it first where there's a free trial and keep backups of your projects.

Liability

As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses, lost profits, or lost data or projects, and our total liability is limited to what you paid for the licence in question. These limits don't apply to damage we cause on purpose or through gross negligence, to harm to life or health, or to anything else the law doesn't let us limit, and they don't reduce your statutory rights as a consumer.

When a licence ends

You can stop using the software at any time. A licence ends if you break this agreement in a serious way, or if its payment is refunded or charged back. We'll tell you by email first and give you a chance to fix the problem where that's possible. When a licence ends, the product locks like an expired trial, and please uninstall it. The sections on ownership, liability and law still apply afterwards.

Law and changes

This agreement is governed by the law of Latvia, and disputes go to the courts of Latvia. If you are a consumer in the European Union, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live and can go to your local courts.

If we change this agreement, for example when we add a product, the new text applies to updates you install after the change, and we update this page and the date at the top. If a part of it turns out to be invalid, the rest still applies.

Questions about this agreement: [email protected].
